IRS Voluntary Worker Reclassification Program Allows Employers to Avoid Penalties and Interest on Misclassified Employees

The Internal Revenue Service on Wednesday announced the launch of its new Voluntary Classification Settlement Program. Under the program, employers will be able to avoid penalties and interest on prior year independent contractor misclassification if they voluntarily reclassify workers as employees going forward.
