Payroll Tax Break Will Expire at End of the Year Without Debt Deal

Questions are growing about the fate of the payroll tax holiday now that the supercommittee has failed to reach a debt deal. The tax break that has allowed employees to pay only 4.2% on the first $106,800 on their wages into Social Security instead of 6.2% is set to expire Jan. 1. President Barack Obama has proposed extending the cut to spur economic growth, and the supercommittee was expected to consider the proposal in a broader deal.  Read more at CNNMoney.com.
